I create integrated brands, brochures and websites that engage and emotionally connect with people.

I am a graphic designer and creative director that brings together visual design and strategic thinking from years’ of experience, diligently honing my craft.

You could say that my career started many decades ago — when I was about six years old. It was then that I discovered my interest in design and color, and started drawing. My love for art grew, so it was natural that I chose to work in the only field that held my interest and passion.

The rest is history —I studied fine arts at the University of British Columbia, and my first job was as an Illustrator at a design studio in Vancouver. A year later we moved to Montreal where I freelanced as an illustrator with advertising agencies, moving on to become an Art Director at the Globe & Mail newspaper, in Toronto.

In 1985 we moved to New York City. In NYC I have held various design positions; On the client side with Scholastic, the AKF Group, American Express, and Wall Street Journal; On the agency side with The Lohman Agency, Ogilvy Design, RTC Relationship Marketing, RODE Agency, and Pace Advertising.

My dream came true when I founded my studio Muir Design in 1995. Since the beginning I have helped many companies develop logos, branding programs, capability brochures, corporate communications, direct mail, and website designs.

I often collaborate with a talented group of creatives working as a “collective”— the team members offer services such as: copywriting, photography, web development and social media strategy. Each client project requires specific services and the team is tailored  to those fit these needs. This collaboration allows projects to be cost effective, while delivering high quality design services. I have worked with clients in many market sectors: corporate, financial, publishing, real estate & luxury, building industry consultants, and professional service firms.

My graphic design is effective because it is not just visually appealing, it is born out of strategic thinking and experience.
